Nigo returned to Place des Victoires for Spring 2027 with a collection rooted in heritage, community, and optimism. Presented in the historic Paris square closely associated with Kenzo Takada, the collection reinforced the ongoing relationship between the house’s past and its evolving future.
Presenting the collection at Place des Victoires carried particular significance. The location played an important role in Kenzo Takada’s early years in Paris, making it a fitting setting for a collection that continued to explore and reinterpret the house’s identity.
Throughout the season, Nigo revisited familiar elements of the Kenzo wardrobe through a contemporary lens. Rugby tops, tailored outerwear, and preppy references formed the foundation of the collection, creating a wardrobe that balanced tradition with modernity.
Collaboration also remained central to the collection. Kenzo partnered once again with historic French ribbon maker Julien Faure, a company connected to Takada’s own creative practice decades earlier. Grosgrain ribbons appeared throughout the collection as trims, oversized bows, and graphic details, adding texture while reinforcing the collection’s connection to the house’s history.
Symbolism appeared throughout the collection, most notably through a newly developed camouflage motif featuring a single pink tree set against a landscape of green. The pattern introduced themes of individuality and difference while offering a fresh interpretation of military inspired dressing. Elsewhere, archival floral motifs resurfaced across dresses, skirts, and layered separates, highlighting the enduring role of nature within the Kenzo universe.
Nigo also continued to expand Kenzo’s collaborative ecosystem through footwear partnerships with Converse and Paraboot, introducing new interpretations of classic silhouettes while maintaining links to the house’s broader history.
Throughout the collection, Nigo demonstrated a willingness to reinterpret familiar house codes rather than simply reproduce them. Preppy references, floral motifs, and historic collaborations were reimagined through a contemporary lens, creating a wardrobe that felt both recognizable and fresh.
